So last week I decided to try and eat more healthy and consume less sweets. Starting Sunday and ending Friday, these were the following things I ate. Noodles with fish and pigeon peas, homemade soup that contained dumplings, potatoes and corn, water, some papaya, and green tea. By Tuesday I had baby carrots that were lightly boiled along with steam broccoli and fish, again water. I treated myself to a brownie and for the evening I had a chicken ranch salad and black tea. The next morning I had pancakes and black tea and egg salad sandwich for lunch. Thursday I fasted and drank tea throughout the day. I didn't record what I ate Friday (opps lol) but I assure you it was safe lol. However on Saturday I made this AMAZING no bake cookie recipe:

NO!!! Sweets Month

Ok...so maybe just much less than I consume lol, but I decided along with a friend to cut out the consumption of junk food and sweets. I wrote down some goals I wanted to accomplish this year and one of them was to start eating healthy and exercising more. So I wanted to share and hopefully encourage healthy eating to go along with going natural. At the end of every week I will do a review of what I ate and feel free to give me any inputs and advice to my next journey.....ENJOY!!!

Homemade Brown Sugar and Olive Oil Facial Scrub

By Yvonne Van Damme

Memeber Tip
There is no need to purchase a pricey commercial facial scrub. Olive oil facials at home can remove dead skin cells and moisturize your skin at the same time. In order to effectively remove those dead cells, add brown sugar to the olive oil to create a luxurious skin care treatment that does not contain nasty preservatives.
Olive Oil
Olive oil is commonly used in cooking. Don't let that stop you from using it on your skin! It contains potent antioxidants, such as oleic acid and caffeic acid. Antioxidants are anti-aging powerhouses that can actually prevent free radicals from aging your skin. Olive oil can treat skin conditions such as dermatitis, dry skin, and rosacea. A homemade brown sugar and olive oil facial scrub is one way to take advantage of these benefits and get smooth, glowing skin.
Instructions
To make this scrub, measure out 1/2 cup brown sugar into a jar or container. Also measure out 1/4 cup virgin olive oil and add it to the brown sugar. Stir them together.
Dip your fingers into the scrub and apply the brown sugar and olive oil facial scrub to your skin in small circles. Continue to massage it into your skin for one minute. Wash it off thoroughly with warm water. Feel free to use this olive oil facial scrub on your body as well.
Tips
  • Scrub in the shower. The homemade olive oil facial scrub is quite messy. The downside of doing this in the shower is that the bottom of the tub will be very slippery. Proceed with caution. If you're in the shower, this does not really apply.
  • Make a fresh batch every time. It's optimal to make a new batch every time that you use the scrub. It does not keep well.
  • Use the scrub one or two times per week, depending on your skin.

Get rid of it!!

I remember making the decision to go natural and reading articles about woman doing the BIG CHOP...and telling myself NO WAY not me, but then realized that it wasn't about just cutting your hair, but it was letting go and starting fresh. Letting go and stripping yourself of the past and showing a new YOU. For those of you that are afraid to do it...go ahead. It's OK, it's self powering. It doesn't make sense holding on to "dead ends". Now I didn't do the "big chop" lol ( was too chicken) but I took it step by step. Every week-3weeks I would grab hold of those scissors and clip, clip, clip lol. Until eventually when there was about 2 1/2 inches left, I told my self "go ahead cut off the rest" ...and I did. It was short...and it felt GOOD. In no time my hair started to grow. So go ahead GET RID OF IT!!!!.....ENJOY!!
